Polish-style Polka Music
Stevens Point, WI
Marie grew up in a house full of music, daughter of band leader Norm Dombrowski. She started
playing the piano at age 10 and joined her dad’s band at age 15, as did each of her three brothers. Today, still a member of The Happy Notes, Marie excels at concertina and violin. In her program,
Marie relates how music, and polka music in particular, is a true source of creativity. Her program includes exploring the structure and mechanics of the concertina, and discussing how Polish-style
music has been an important influence for her. It’s a lot of fun!
