Norwegian Rosemaling

Lois Mueller is an
outstanding rosemaler who earned the Vesterheim Gold Medal in rosemaling in
1998. Lois has published several instructional books, an instructional DVD, and has taught rosemaling courses throughout the
US and in Taiwan and Canada. In her presentations, Lois demonstrates rosemaling basics and explains
the different styles, history and the elements of an easy design, followed by a
question and answer period. For more in-depth workshops, Lois instructs on
basic designs as well as more detailed work.

A general presentation |
An in-depth workshop with up to 15 adults for 3-5 days (6-7 hours each day). If within 50 miles of
Platteville, the workshop could be 3-4 hours per day for 3-5 days, or 4-6 hours
one day a week for 6-8 weeks. |

Availability:
If the presentation is a one time demo or a class for a few hours each day for
several days, then no more
than 50 miles from Platteville. If the presentation is for 3 or more full days,
then distance is not an issue.

workshops.
- Illinois Norsk Rosemaler’s Association in Chicago area, 2001-02, 3-day
workshops.
- Sons of Norway Lodges in Richland Center, Fennimore and Monroe, brief demo
presentations.
- Indianapolis Sons of Norway, five-day workshops annually since 1993.
- Sons of Norway Lodges in Calgary, Red Deer and Edmonton in Alberta, Canada,
five-to-seven day workshops, 2004-05.
- Society of Decorative Painters Convention, as well as Society of
Decorative Painters Chapters throughout the U.S.
