Traditional Dance Outfits
Lac du Flambeau, WI

Bette SkenandoreBette designed and sewed traditional dance outfits. She incorporated traditional Woodland Indian motifs into the clothes she made, such as ribbon shirts, vests and jingle dresses. For programs, Bette’s priority was to teach Indian children how to create traditional dance outfits, something that required long term interaction with the youths. Wisconsin will always remember Bette's beautiful regalia as she is now retired from her craft.
