Polish Holiday Eggs
Stevens Point, WI
Kim was born in Mosinee, Wisconsin
to Polish immigrant parents who kept the language and traditions of their
homeland alive. Kim learned the art of Nalepianki, decorating eggs using paper cut-outs,
from her mother as a way to celebrate Christmas and Easter. In a
presentation, Kim displays her eggs and explains the traditional symbols and
the innovative designs she has created. If the
group is advanced enough, she can teach the process of dying
the eggs, basic cutting, and how to paste the cut-outs.
