Ukrainian Eggs Betty Pisio Christenson was a master at the art of pysanky, a traditional Ukrainian method of decorating eggs. Betty's artistry was recognized in 1996 when the National Endowment for the Arts named her a National Heritage Fellow. Illness keeps Betty from continuing to make pysanky, but her daughter Cindy is willing to answer questions about her mother's art and career. We honor her contributions to Wisconsin heritage by keeping her Wisconsin Folks pages available so that others can continue to learn about this beautiful Ukrainian tradition.
