Woodcarving and Metalwork
Milwaukee, WI
George McCormick, a Milwaukeean since 1950, carves award winning basswood figures and low reliefs
in his unique style. He also does metalworking, creating large and small
sculptures from found metal. In a program, George brings a variety of his
pieces and can demonstrate carving techniques. He’ll talk about his life
story and his journey as an artist. He can also teach a technique class but
prefers not to teach carving due to potential injuries.
